Thank you for visiting my website. February 2012 As a successful small business owner, family man and long time resident of Riverside County (since 1971) I am proud to be a candidate for Riverside County Supervisor - First District. Im honored to have the support and endorsement of so many great volunteers, community leaders, elected officials and several key organizations (including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association & California Small Business Association). You can see our growing list of campaign supporters on the left side of this page.
For several months Ive been walking door to door to meet with and hear directly from fellow voters. So far I have visited over 6000 homes! Public safety, protecting our quality of life, creating jobs, respecting private property rights, opposing new taxes and cutting generous salaries and pensions have all been at the top of the discussions.
Please take a moment to review the entire website including the "Issues" page in order to better understand some of the important concerns I will be fighting for, should I have the privilege to serve you as your next County Supervisor. If you would like to know more about my personal background please takes a look at "About Kevin." Im hoping you will agree that my lifelong dedication to serving the citizens of Riverside County (as a Park board Director, water board Director, non-profit Board member, small business owner & advocate, 29 year volunteer firefighter, LAFCO commissioner, and state Legislator) all give me the unique and valuable experience to serve you as the next First District Supervisor. As always - My door is open and I encourage you to use this website to get to know me better and to offer any suggestions you may have to make Riverside County an even better place to live, work and enjoy! Respectfully, Kevin Jeffries
First District Hot Topic Update: Tuesday January 24th:
1. A divided Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 (First District Incumbent opposed) to make front line Firefighter staffing at our local fire stations a top budget priority. During my 29 years of service as a Vol-Firefighter I publicly supported increasing staffing at our local fire stations to meet the ever increasing amount of emergency calls resulting from population growth - including adding full time Firefighters at the El Cariso Fire Station to serve the dangerous Ortega Hwy. Using our hard earned tax dollars to keep our communities safe must be the first priority of government. 2. In a huge victory for private property rights the Board of Supervisors reversed two previous votes to impose a moratorium (supported by the First District Incumbent) on hundreds of property owners in and around the community of La Cresta. Property owners still had to pay their property taxes during the moratorium but they were prohibited from seeking permits to build a home or garage on the land they owned.
